Here in Brazil we developed them in industrial basis and now every gas station has at least 40% of biodiesel mixed in the regular diesel. Anyway, the cheapest and easier solution, 100% renewable, is the Alcohol, made by our sugar plants, which USA can easily develop and do the plantations. It doesn't produce food, so it won't break any food chain or harm business, and it is easily done in a small area (like a garage). Biofuels are very nice, but Alcohol is cheaper and can be made in very large scale. Here 100% of gas stations offer the Alcohol Fuel. Very nice post. The Biofuels are really a very good choice.
