Magnet Generator - Complete Fraud - Or is It?

October 16th, 2009 |

The big buzz around the internet recently has been something called a magnet generator. If you believe the hype then these devices can be built for pennies, run for thousands of years and give you free electricity that saves you thousands of dollars every year for nothing. But is there really such a thing as a magnet generator, can you build it easily and does it really work like the inventors claim?

I’m a sceptical kind of person by nature so I have to say that when I heard about this device and all of the great things that it could do, I have to say my first reaction was - yeah right! But, in the interest of science I decided to give it a go and build my own working magnet generator, so I hopped onto the net, got a good DIY guide and started the project.

In case you don’t already know, a magnet generator is a device that uses the power of magnets to drive a flywheel that, when connected to a small turbine can produce electricity. It works on the same principle as a wind turbine but without the wind. The generator stores the generated power in a set of batteries for use when needed. Because they are small and very quiet that are also idea for using in smaller homes or apartments as they can be used indoors or out and in any weather as well as in the dark! Sounds almost too good to be true.

First of all, I have to say that for a DIY dunce like me it was a daunting task - I struggle to put up a set of shelves. That said, the guide was good and I did managed to build something that resembled a magnet generator, at least I think I did. The instructions were comprehensive but I have to say I struggled with some of the more technical aspects. A few e-mails to the customer support line were needed to get me over the humps. The whole build took me longer than expected but I dare say someone who knew one end of a screwdriver from the other would manage fine.

Ok, so far, so good. But did it work? Well, despite my scepticism, the answer is yes! At the first time of asking as well. Just a gentle shove to set it off and it was producing power from the first turn. Now the inventors claim that it can power up to 50% of your household items but I doubt this. Still, I did manage to power the batteries up within a few hours and then could draw power to run my pc, tv and home entertainment items without a hitch. If I had more time and resources I reckon that I could easily have achieved the inventors claims, but I was happy with what I did get. Over the course of its life, which I’m told is about 400 years , the magnet generator that I built will definitely pay for itself many times over, but as for total self sufficiency - I doubt that.

So, in my experience a magnet generator really does live up to most of the hype. Its clean, quiet, green and can be built by a monkey (me!). Its not without problems - its still not a total breeze to build, but easily worth the time effort and couple of hundred dollars in parts that it cost.

If you would like to try and build your own working magnetic generator, then you need to get the best guide around. I used The Magniwork Guide and got great results, especially for a beginner like me. I recommend that you check it out.
